    AS/400 to Odoo ERP: Digital Transformation Journey of 70-year-old New York-based International Equipment Supplier

    About Client

    Established in 1949, the client is a leading equipment supplier based in the US. It has been serving precious and semi-precious metal fabrication industries, globally. Housed in an ultramodern 40,000 square foot warehouse in New York, it has a dedicated and experienced workforce that has surpassed customer expectations. With the advent of the digital revolution, it partnered with Brainvire to migrate its legacy AS/400 system to Odoo and experience the next level of workflow automation.

    Product Idea

    In age-old legacy systems, users have to perform mundane, repetitive tasks on a regular basis whose accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Brainvire migrated the AS/400 system to Odoo and customized it to suit the complex business requirements of the client. Modules such as inventory management, production & planning, accounting, and sales were integrated with the Magento website for greater efficiency.

    Sales Commission Calculation:

    The client followed a tedious process for calculating sales commission and multiple factors were taken into consideration in the process which is very time taking

    Solution:

    The Brainvire team developed an automated system based on existing reports and used advanced algorithms to calculate the commissions without manual interventions.

    Data Migration:

    Business data had to be migrated from their 30-year-old system to the new system.

    Solution:

    The data was exported to Excel via different mediums and then imported to the new system after multiple changes. The latest automation tools were also implemented in the system to grab the data.

    Scheduled Reporting:

    The client had an extensive set of reports, which they use on a daily basis along with multiple KPI points.

    Solution:

    A scheduled reporting system was developed that automatically generates reports and shares them with all the concerned stakeholders.

    Dropshipping:

    There are situations where the orders are passed on to the client’s registered vendors who drop-ship them to their respective customers.

    Solution:

    The team developed a mechanism in the purchase order that can manage drop shipping and notify vendors accordingly.

    Manual Workload Reduced by 42%

    The automated business processes reduced the manual workload of teams by 42%.

    Managing an Inventory of Over 200k SKUs

    The platform manages over 200k SKUs in a hassle-free manner and also processes over 100 orders daily.

    Sales Improved by 28%

    Significant improvement was noted in the sales processes after the implementation of Odoo.

    The financial transactions were streamlined due to the automated end-to-end bank reconciliation process.
